Coming soon: A Bad Batch novel
Has the Maker been listening to our pleas for more stories with The Bad Batch? It appears so, according to a listing for Star Wars: Sanctuary.
The book listing on Penguin Random House’s UK website says Sanctuary is “A Bad Batch Novel” written by Lamar Giles and is part of the “SW TBC” collection. It appears available to preorder as an audio download and through Apple Books, Kobo, Libro.fm, and xigxag.
There is an ISBN and a release date of May 8, 2025. The imprint is Penguin and the price is £16.00 (about $19.50 USD). There’s no cover or synopsis. And there are no other details about what “SW TBC” is.
Could this be another audio original like Padawan’s Pride and Seeds of Starlight? Or maybe a new young adult novel? The author is well-known for writing YA fiction.
I’m keeping my eyes peeled for more details. Once there’s an official announcement, I’ll share it here ASAP.

Space Wizards Book Club is now on Fable and YouTube
I finally made Space Wizards Book Club into an actual book club. We’re over on the Fable app with 84 members so far — truly astounding. We’re currently reading Rogue One, and there’s still plenty of time to join and read with us.
The beginning of the year motivation hit me hard. And with TikTok likely going away for Americans in a week, I needed to find a new home for SWBC bookish content besides Instagram. So, I started a YouTube channel.
Right now, the videos are shorts and longer pieces reposted from my TikTok page. But I have plans to share YT exclusive long-form content in the future. I just need to get my camera working and brush up on my video editing skills.
If you also have a YouTube channel, I’d love to follow you! Share it in the comments along with recommendations for other Star Wars and BookTube creators to follow.
Reading and writing updates
It’s been a busy start to 2025. So busy that I completely forgot to send a newsletter last week (sorry about that). But it’s a good busy — the kind that fills me with buzzing excitement for all the projects, writing, reading, and ideas I’ll bring to life this year.
Works in progress:
Star Wars Insider 230: Feature story on video game tie-in novels is complete and with the editor. The issue comes out on March 25.
Star Wars Insider 231: Finishing interviews and starting to write a feature story on “in-galaxy” history and reference books.
My space history book: Chugging along, struggling to find motivation and long stretches of time to focus on this. But it WILL get done. I still love every moment I get to read and write about space history and rockets.
Freelance work: Setting up interviews with the owners of a new children’s bookstore here in St. Petersburg, Fla. After that’s finished, I will take a break from Creative Loafing and Orlando Weekly to focus on my book and other projects TBA.
Teaching: I’m back at USF teaching a senior-level reporting class and coordinating student interns. I’m also still the faculty adviser for the student newspaper.
What I’m reading:
For SWBC book club: Rogue One
For my local book club: The Ministry of Time
To prepare for Onxy Storm: Rereading Iron Flame
Next Star Wars book to review: Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear (Feb. 25)

Excited for a Bad Batch book! I'm guessing, based on absolutely nothing but a vision from the Force, they'll start at where the show left off and it will be Omega joining the Rebellion.
Thanks for a super club. Indent have time for gaming or comics but I love the novels as that’s what kept us going through the EU timeline. And I love books. I don’t have any social media but go on YouTube from time to time and will follow you there. The novels will keep my nose into the galaxy far far away till Andor……
