I've been very pleased that by in large the Substack Star Wars community is filled with positive and rational people. And even those who disagree on something can do so in a respectful way. Contrast that to what's happening on YouTube. I don't even click on them but the algorithm keeps suggesting videos with titles like "THE WOKEALYTE RUINS STAR WARS! KATHLEEN KENNEDY LAUGHS MANIACALLY!" It's exhausting.
A lot of people on youtube just get angry and post it because they know they will get clicks and views. People like us who write about our favorite fandoms are doing it because we actually enjoy the thing we are writing about. I wish I liked everything, cause that just means there is more out there for me to enjoy! But some people just do not have that mindset and go into things already hating it and wanting to let everyone know it.
I’m sure there are Star Wars fans on YouTube doing good faith analysis and criticism but there’s so much crap to wade through it’s not worth it. I’ll just stay in my substack bubble.

I am really curious to read the Viz Media Yoda manga. It is nice to see other people get ahold of the IP. I love when we get a fresh take on our galaxy far far away.
