Surprise! Another new Star Wars audiobook comes out next week
The High Republic: Seeds of Starlight (part 1) arrives on Nov. 14 as an Audible exclusive.
There’s yet another new, unannounced Star Wars book on the way. The High Republic: Seeds of Starlight — a middle-grade story by George Mann and Lucasfilm Press — arrives as an Audible exclusive on Nov. 14.
Disney Books surprise-dropped Padawan’s Pride two months ago, a middle-grade story starring Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker three years after The Phantom Menace. At the time, the listing’s metadata showed Padawan’s Pride was the first in a new series of Star Wars Adventures Audible Originals.
Without any promotion or formal announcement, it’s not clear if Seeds of Starlight is part of that same series. It likely is, as Disney Books also dropped other audio-only kids’ books starring characters from Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, and Cars.
What is clear is that Seeds of Starlight is set in The High Republic Phase 3 and stars familiar Jedi Padawans and the planet Eiram — of The High Republic Phase 2 and The Fallen Star fame.
Publisher’s summary:
“When people start going missing on the oceanic world of Eiram, one Jedi Master and three Padawans are all that the Jedi can spare to investigate. Upon their arrival the Jedi quickly realize there is more at stake than they could possibly have imagined. A dangerous threat has emerged from the crashed Starlight Beacon beneath the ocean depths, and no one is safe, not even the Jedi...”
Seeds of Starlight is also the first part of this story. The Audible listing says part two is coming next year.
The High Republic: Seeds of Starlight is an Audible Original, which means it’s available for free but only to paid subscribers.
I’ll share a full review of Seeds of Starlight next week.
