Star Wars book news: Darth Vader novel 'Master of Evil' coming in November
Plus: A few recommendations to prepare for the new book.
Star Wars Celebration Japan isn’t until next week but StarWars.com said, “Here are some book reveals, as a treat.”
The biggest news of the day is the reveal of Master of Evil by Adam Christopher, a Darth Vader novel that will explore the Sith Lord’s “haunting pursuit for the power to conquer death.” The book is set sometime between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
Star Wars also revealed the deliciously creepy cover for the book, which arrives on Nov. 11, 2025.
With Christopher and other authors in attendance at the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at Star Wars Celebration next week, it’s likely we’ll get even more juicy details about this story.
In the meantime, I highly recommend Christopher’s Shadow of the Sith — set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. This book has some amazing lore about the Sith and Palpatine’s Final Order and machinations on Exegol. It’s also an excellent venture into Star Wars horror.
Oh, and Shadow of the Sith was part of the very first Space Wizards Book Club newsletter.
Other canon recommendations are the recent runs of Darth Vader comics by Charles Soule and Greg Pak. Soule’s 2017-2018 run followed Vader after Revenge of the Sith, and Pak’s 2020 series is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Between the two of them, there are 75 issues to read. But you have seven months before Master of Evil comes out.
What are you most excited to see in this new Star Wars book? Any other Vader reading recommendations? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Is this the first Disney canon Vader book? There was the Legends one by (I think) James Luceno that was pretty good. My main takeaway from it though was how Vader goes to the bathroom in his suit.
Oh wow I can’t wait !!!
