Star Wars books and comics arriving this month: August 2023

My top picks: "Return of the Jedi: Max Rebo #1", "FAVPOV: Return of the Jedi", and new Essential Legends Collection books.

Here I was thinking there would be a Star Wars book drought during the — still hot — transition from summer to fall.

August is one of those weird months where it still feels like one season, but you really just want that season to be over with so you can get to the next one — the better one, actually. It’s also back-to-school season, which means I’m gearing up to teach another set of journalism classes for the fall semester.

As for new Star Wars stuff, the big one is Ahsoka, of course. But because of the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, I likely won’t be discussing the show beyond possible book recommendations.

As for books and comics, my top picks include the one-shot comic Return of the Jedi: Max Rebo, new Essential Legends Collection reprints, and From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi.
