Bonus Book Club: Books to read before 'Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi'
Add "Dooku: Jedi Lost," "Master & Apprentice," and "Ahsoka" to your TBR before "Tales of the Jedi" arrives on Oct. 26.
This weekend, Lucasfilm revealed new details, trailers, and teasers for upcoming projects on Disney+. That includes the first trailer for Tales of the Jedi — an anthology series of shorts following the light and dark journeys of Ahsoka Tano and Dooku.
While this show, including its first episode, isn’t new to Star Wars Celebration attendees, this trailer was the first look the rest of us got at the new show. Several of the animated shorts follow Ahsoka’s life before she joined the Jedi Order. And scenes from the trailer hint at some of the episodes showing what she experienced after the events of The Clone Wars — like facing off against a mysterious new Inquisitor.
Other episodes follow Dooku in his youth as a Jedi, including his time training Qui-Gon Jinn as a Padawan and events that led him to leave the Jedi Order. What’s cool about those episodes is that Liam Neeson reprises his role as Qui-Gon while his son, Micheál Richardson, will voice younger Qui-Gon.
With Tales of the Jedi, it’ll be the first time we’ll see these incredible stories on screen. But Star Wars readers already have a deeper understanding of why Dooku left the Jedi and how Ahsoka lived after the Siege of Mandalore — because of the following books.
If you can’t wait for these shorts to premiere, here are some reading recommendations to tide you over until Tales of the Jedi premieres on Oct. 26.
